**Date** 12th Cycle of the Blood Moon (Last Known)
**Location** The Wastes of the Unknown (First 2 weeks)
Unknown World
—
**Objective**
Document my experiences post-dimensional transition and formulate a plan for survival and reunion with my family. Furthermore, discover a solution to our dying world and either return or send word back to my people.
**Background**
I hail from the nation of Khonsuur, a land steeped in dark pharaonic tradition. Our society is divided into castes, with my kin and the Ticks, us Kemyt, serving as the backbone of labor and defense. The Amuun, diplomats and seers of Mosquito descent, are our voice to the cosmos. While the Khopry, the elusive Assassin Bugs, govern us and control the flow of blood—the lifeblood of our economy and magic.
The world of Khonsuur has succumbed to decay. Our resources dwindle, and the rainfall, tainted with acid, becomes a grim reminder of our plight. In a desperate bid for salvation, we discovered a dimensional rift—a pathway to another realm. We launched an expedition team of thirteen, including my beloved wife, Min-kah a worker, and our clutch of younglings. Unit composition of 1 Khopry Leader, 2 Amon Diplomats, 6 Kemyt Soldiers and 4 Workers.
**Transition Incident**
Upon crossing into this strange dimension, calamity struck. Most of my fellow Kemyt were lost, swallowed by the chaos of the rift. Only I, and two others, Tef-Rahmen, an Amuun diplomat, and Sutan, a fellow Tick soldier—survived the harrowing passage. I can still hear the echoes of their screams as the rift flung us and closed, leaving me with a heavy heart and gnawing despair.
Days turned into an agonizing blur of hunger. Starvation forced Sutan and me to confront our instincts. We turned on Tef-Rahmen—his blood and “soffez” (consumable parts) were sustenance, a grim choice that haunts my conscience. The act of survival burned a chasm between Sutan and me; soon, he too vanished into the unforgiving wastes, leaving me alone.
**Current Status**
I wander this alien world, driven by the hope that Min-kah and our clutch still breathe. I must believe that Yntef, the Khopry leader, navigates his own survival. My existence has been reduced to scavenging and evasion. The villagers I encountered view me with suspicion; they see a creature unlike themselves and do not hesitate to strike first.
To survive, I have adopted a disguise—clothing stitched together from the remains of fallen warriors and refuse. A tattered cowl with a hood obscures my head, while a face mask fashioned from a helmet conceals my features. When draped in a long overcoat hiding my arms and form, I appear human, at least from a distance. The fear of being judged, or worse, hunted, compels me to remain hidden.
**Encounters and Challenges**
On my journey, I stumbled upon a distant village where I discovered the remains of a Kemyt soldier and an Amuun diviner, their lives extinguished by villagers’ hands. This grim spectacle only reinforces my resolve; I must tread carefully. My ability to communicate is stunted by the alien tongue, creating a barrier that further isolates me. I am determined to learn their language, but time and articulation is against me.
**Objective Moving Forward**
To find allies who will not cast me aside, I must venture into the heart of this strange world. I will seek out individuals who understand hardship and might share a common goal. Trust is a rare commodity, yet I hope to find others willing to aid in my quest: to locate Min-kah, my clutch, and the surviving members of my team.
**Recent Thoughts**
Each day is a struggle, a battle against despair and loneliness. Yet the thought of my wife and children keeps the flame of hope alive within me. I will forge my path through this dark, twisted land, searching for kin and comrades, determined to reclaim my family and secure a future for my people.
